Young Woman Fatally Shot and Left on West Fairmount Avenue in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, WI — A deeply disturbing case is under investigation after a young woman in her 20s was left on the 3100 block of West Fairmount Avenue late Tuesday night with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite efforts by first responders to resuscitate her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are now working to determine the circumstances of the shooting and identify the individuals responsible for dropping her off without explanation.

Emergency Response and Tragic Outcome

Milwaukee police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene shortly after 10:00 p.m., following reports that an unresponsive woman had been dropped off at the curb. Upon arrival, officers found the woman suffering from a severe head wound, believed to be the result of a gunshot.

Paramedics initiated CPR immediately, but it was ultimately unsuccessful. She was declared dead at the scene.

The individuals who left her there had already fled, and their identities are unknown.

Police Investigating Suspicious Circumstances

Investigators believe the woman was shot elsewhere before being transported and left in the residential neighborhood. No gunshots were reported in the area at the time of the incident, lending weight to the theory that she was moved after the shooting occurred.

Authorities are working to collect surveillance footage, canvass nearby homes, and speak with potential witnesses. The case is being treated as suspicious, and police say they are pursuing several leads.

Neighborhood in Shock

The sudden police presence on an otherwise quiet block left residents stunned.

“It was so sudden—flashing lights, ambulances, and then all the police,” said one neighbor who watched from their porch. “To know someone was left here to die is horrifying.”

Many residents expressed concern about the growing violence in the city and the brazenness of those who would leave someone gravely injured without seeking help.

Victim’s Identity Still Withheld

As of Thursday, the woman’s identity has not been released to the public. Police say she appeared to be in her early to mid-20s. The medical examiner’s office is working to notify next of kin.

Once identified, her name will be released, and more details about her background may emerge.

City Grapples with Another Loss

This incident adds to a troubling list of recent acts of violence that have shaken communities across the country. Just days ago, Chrissy “Bhrissy” Jones was fatally shot in Cincinnati, also under heartbreaking circumstances.

In both cases, young women lost their lives in situations that remain under investigation, leaving friends, family, and entire communities mourning and seeking answers.

Police Request Public Assistance

Milwaukee police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. They are especially interested in tips about:

  • Any suspicious vehicles seen in the area that night
  • Surveillance footage from nearby homes or businesses
  • Individuals who may have knowledge of the victim or her recent whereabouts

Those with information can contact Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
