ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A heartbreaking accident on State Road 436 at Lake Pleasant Road claimed the life of Cindy Lissette Romero, 25, of Winter Springs, Florida, on Saturday, leaving her family, fiancé, and community in deep mourning. Romero, a former student at Winter Springs High School, was a passenger on a Harley-Davidson Road King involved in the collision.
Details of the Crash
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the crash occurred when a 2024 Ford Maverick, traveling westbound in the left turn lane, attempted a U-turn and entered the direct path of the eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The impact caused both the motorcycle rider and Romero, the passenger, to be thrown from the vehicle. The motorcycle rider was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Tragically, Romero was transported to AdventHealth Apopka, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver and passenger of the Ford Maverick were not injured and remained at the scene.
Investigation Underway
Authorities confirmed that the crash is under active investigation. The FHP’s review includes analyzing roadway conditions, vehicle positions, and witness accounts to determine the factors that contributed to the fatal collision. At this time, no charges have been publicly disclosed.
