Stephens College Nursing Student Aiyanna Williams Dies After Downtown Columbia Shooting

Columbia, Missouri — The Stephens College community and the city of Columbia are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Aiyanna Williams, a Battle High School graduate and nursing student whose life was tragically cut short after she suffered gunshot wounds to the head during a downtown shooting early Saturday morning.

Authorities confirmed that Williams, along with two others, was shot during the violent incident. While the other victims are recovering, Williams’ injuries proved fatal. Her passing has sent waves of grief across her campus, her former high school, and the larger community that watched her grow into a bright, promising young woman.

“In this internship I gained communication skills, customer service skills and phone skills. I have also learned more skills pertaining to professional and personal development which has helped me be successful in the workplace.”
