ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Rocky Mount Police Department has released new details about a tragic shooting that unfolded early Sunday morning, leaving one man dead and four others injured on the 2100 block of Benvenue Road.
Authorities confirmed that the victim has been identified as 24-year-old Kedar Darden, a resident of Rocky Mount.
The Incident
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 6:00 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, they found multiple individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, Kedar Darden was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to investigators, four other people were also injured during the incident. The victims include a 27-year-old woman, a 28-year-old woman, a 24-year-old man, and a 32-year-old man. Police confirmed that the two women and the 24-year-old man have since been treated and released from medical care, while the 32-year-old man remains hospitalized in fair condition.
