Multiple Victims Feared in South Minneapolis Shooting, Police Investigating

Minneapolis, MN — A heavy police presence has flooded a south Minneapolis neighborhood after an apparent shooting Tuesday afternoon that may have left multiple victims.

Authorities were called to the area of Clinton Avenue and East 29th Street, just east of Interstate 35, shortly after reports of gunfire rang out. When officers arrived, they discovered a chaotic scene and quickly began securing the area.

Fatality Suspected at the Scene

A white tent was erected on the sidewalk, appearing to cover a body, suggesting that at least one person was killed in the shooting. Minneapolis police have not yet confirmed the number of victims or released details on their conditions.

“Investigators are actively working to determine what happened here,” a police source at the scene told reporters. “It’s still very early in the process.”

Ongoing Investigation

As of Tuesday evening, no arrests had been announced and no suspect descriptions were available. Police are urging community members with any information to come forward.

The scene around Clinton Avenue was lined with squad cars and crime scene tape as forensic teams documented evidence. Residents stood nearby, some shaken and others visibly emotional, watching investigators move in and out of the area.

Community on Edge

The shooting has once again rattled Minneapolis residents, many of whom say they are frustrated by ongoing gun violence in the city. Community leaders are already calling for renewed efforts to improve public safety and support local families impacted by violent crime.

“We’re tired of seeing our streets turn into crime scenes,” said one neighbor, who asked not to be identified. “People are scared, and we need answers.”

What Comes Next

Police say updates will be provided as soon as more details are confirmed, including the identities of the victims and whether a suspect has been taken into custody.

For now, investigators remain at the scene, canvassing the area for witnesses and reviewing any available surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses.
