Daviess County, KY – The community of Daviess County is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Jeremy Wayne Wingfield, 41, of Utica, who tragically died on Monday, August 18, 2025, after being struck in a fatal pedestrian accident on U.S. Highway 431.
Jeremy’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and neighbors in shock, as they remember a man who brought kindness, warmth, and laughter to everyone he encountered.
A Life Rooted in Family and Faith
Born on July 17, 1984, in Daviess County, Jeremy was the beloved son of Terry Wayne Wingfield and Deborah Lynn Wedding Gray. A proud 2002 graduate of Muhlenberg North High School, he went on to share his faith as a member of Matthews Table.
Known for his vibrant personality, Jeremy enjoyed collecting shoes and hats and found peace in the mountains, where he loved to spend his time. Those close to him remember him as a man full of energy, humor, and a deep love for his family.
Remembering Loved Ones Who Went Before
Jeremy’s passing reunites him with cherished family members who preceded him in death, including his granddaughter, Serinity Grace O’Bannon; paternal grandparents Lige Wingfield Jr. and Nelda Wingfield; maternal grandparents Robert and Eva Grace Wedding; and his special aunt, Brenda Rager.
A Legacy of Love
Jeremy leaves behind his wife, Riki Beth Wingfield, who stood by him with unwavering love and devotion. He is also survived by his parents, Lynn Gray (Richard) and Terry Wingfield; sister, Kristy Lynn Standiford; nephews, Lincoln and Liam Standiford; and brother-in-law, Brandon Standiford.
Jeremy’s role as a stepfather and grandfather brought him great joy. He leaves behind his stepsons, Karson Lynch and Dustin Lynch; stepdaughter, Kaitlyn Piper; and two step-granddaughters, Piper O’Bannon and Paisley O’Bannon.
His life touched the hearts of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Funeral Arrangements
A funeral service honoring Jeremy’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on the same day, Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Jeremy’s passing is not only a personal loss to his family but also a sorrow felt throughout the Daviess County community, where he was known as a loving husband, devoted family man, and kindhearted friend.
