East Texas Mourns the Passing of Morgan Wright, Owner of Red Creek Hunts and Kennels

LUFKIN, TX – The East Texas community is mourning the passing of Morgan Wright, a beloved resident and respected business owner known for his dedication, hard work, and love for the outdoors. Wright, who owned and operated Red Creek Hunts and Red Creek Kennels of Texas, leaves behind a legacy of commitment to both his community and his passion for hunting, dogs, and conservation.

Born in El Campo, Texas, Morgan Wright’s life was deeply rooted in the Lone Star State. He was a man of education, having studied at several respected Texas institutions. He began his academic journey at Wharton County Junior College in Wharton before furthering his studies at Panola College. He later attended Angelina College and Sam Houston State University, continuing to build on his education at Stephen F. Austin State University. His pursuit of excellence eventually led him to Concordia University Texas, where he earned a Master of Public Administration. This strong academic foundation shaped him into a well-rounded leader who was respected by classmates, colleagues, and business partners alike.

Through his businesses, Red Creek Hunts and Red Creek Kennels, Wright became a trusted figure in the Texas sporting and hunting community. He was admired for his professionalism, his expertise, and his dedication to the dogs he trained and cared for. To his clients, he was more than a business owner—he was a mentor, a guide, and a friend. Tragedy struck on Monday around 1 p.m. when a two-vehicle crash occurred in downtown Lufkin, according to a press release from the Lufkin Police Department shared by public relations specialist Jackie Zimmerman. Authorities confirmed that a woman from Pollok was taken to a Lufkin hospital following the wreck. The crash has left family, friends, and the wider community devastated, as news spread quickly of Wright’s untimely passing.
