De’Tavion Marques Levi, 28, Identified as Victim in Deadly Polk County Shooting

Polk County, Iowa – Authorities have identified the man killed in a tragic shooting over the weekend as 28-year-old De’Tavion Marques Levi of Des Moines, leaving his family and community in mourning.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched shortly after midnight on Saturday, September 13, to the Lumberyard bar, located on the east side of Des Moines, following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered Levi suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate efforts from first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest Made in Connection to the Shooting

Investigators confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection with the incident, though details regarding the suspect’s identity and possible motive have not yet been released to the public.
