BELLE GLADE, Fla — The Palm Beach County community is mourning the tragic loss of Henry Jr. Boyd, known to many as Hbossin Boyd, after he was fatally shot early Thursday morning in Belle Glade.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), deputies were dispatched shortly after dawn following a ShotSpotter alert near NW 8th Street and Avenue A. Upon arrival, they discovered Boyd suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately attempted life-saving measures until Palm Beach County Fire Rescue paramedics arrived, but despite their efforts, Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities later identified the victim as Henry Jr. Boyd, a lifelong resident of Belle Glade. Boyd, who studied at Glades Central Community High School, was well known in his community and had deep ties to both Belle Glade and West Palm Beach, where he was originally from. Friends and loved ones referred to him as Hbossin Boyd, a nickname that reflected his strong personality and presence among his peers.
Investigation Underway
Detectives with PBSO’s Violent Crimes Division are actively investigating the shooting, canvassing the area for witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and collecting forensic evidence. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has not released details about a possible suspect or motive.
