BEDFORD, N.H. — A Bedford woman has been arrested in connection with the death of 17-year-old Tyson Bolduc, a Bedford High School junior who died after jumping from a moving car in June, police announced Tuesday.
Heather Keegan, 55, faces charges of facilitating an underage alcohol party that investigators say preceded the June 8 tragedy. She is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on Sept. 9.
Fatal Night on Wallace Road
Authorities said Bolduc was riding as a passenger in a vehicle driven by another 17-year-old boy on Wallace Road when, under circumstances still under investigation, he exited the moving vehicle. Bolduc suffered fatal injuries.
Bedford Police Chief Daniel Douidi called the incident “a heartbreaking tragedy,” noting that both teens had attended a gathering at Keegan’s home prior to the crash. Police say alcohol was made available to minors at the party.
Driver Cited but Cleared of Impairment
The juvenile driver, whose name is not being released, was cited for transportation of alcohol and open container violations after officers found alcohol inside the vehicle.
However, a field sobriety test and toxicology results determined he was not impaired at the time of the crash. Police added that the teen has fully cooperated with investigators.
Adult Accountability
Authorities emphasized that Keegan’s charges highlight the dangers of adults enabling underage drinking. “This remains a tragic incident, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the families involved during this difficult time,” Chief Douidi said. “We are committed to ensuring justice is served and to working with schools, parents, and community partners to prevent another senseless tragedy.”
Community in Mourning
The death of Tyson Bolduc has shaken Bedford, where classmates and teachers remember him as a bright, kindhearted student with a promising future. Counseling and support services have been made available at Bedford High School as students cope with the loss.
The case remains under investigation as Keegan awaits arraignment next month.
