RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public’s help to identify a man who was tragically killed under an overpass in Rancho Cucamonga on August 15, 2025.
Deputies responded shortly before midnight to reports of a crash on Foothill Boulevard near the 15 Freeway. Investigators found the man had been struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The victim had no personal belongings to help identify him, and despite efforts to locate family or associates, authorities have exhausted current leads.
Description of the Victim
The man is estimated to be 25 to 35 years old, standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 129 pounds. He had black hair, brown eyes, and facial hair including a mustache and chin hair. At the time of discovery, he was wearing a denim jacket, sweatshirt, black t-shirt, and black jeans.
One of his most distinctive features is a Playboy bunny tattoo on his left wrist. Investigators have released a photograph of the victim in hopes that someone in the community may recognize him and come forward.
Call for Public Assistance
Officials are urging anyone with information to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner Division at 909-387-2978 and reference case #702505469. Tips can be submitted confidentially.
“This case is heartbreaking, and we are asking the community to help us bring answers to this unidentified man,” said a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office. “Even small pieces of information could be vital in identifying him and providing closure.”
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in cases involving hit-and-run incidents. They hope that renewed attention and public awareness will lead to the identification of the man and accountability for the driver who fled.
