Da Real Von Fatally Shot in Saint Paul’s South Frogtown; Police Launch Investigation

SAINT PAUL, MN — A fatal shooting in Saint Paul’s South Frogtown neighborhood early Saturday morning has left the community shaken after authorities confirmed the victim as Da Real Von, a rising local rapper.

Early Morning Gunfire

Police say the shooting happened shortly after 2 a.m. near University Avenue and Dale Street, when multiple 911 calls reported gunfire. Responding officers discovered the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Saint Paul Police Department’s homicide unit has taken over the case. Detectives spent hours combing through evidence, canvassing the area, and reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses.

Victim Identified as Da Real Von

Family members and friends identified the victim as Da Real Von, an emerging figure in the Twin Cities rap scene. His sudden and violent death has sparked an outpouring of grief both in the Frogtown community and online.
