CINCINNATI — The city of Cincinnati is mourning the tragic loss of Jawan Tyree Bates, a 25-year-old man who was fatally shot on the evening of September 26, 2025, near Montgomery Road and Brewster Avenue. According to the Cincinnati Police Department, District Two officers were dispatched at approximately 7:20 PM following reports of gunfire in the area. Before officers arrived, Bates was transported by private conveyance to University Hospital Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
