NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.  — A devastating tragedy has struck the Lee County community after officials confirmed that Jessica Sanchez, a 22-year-old off-duty EMT with Lee County EMS, has been identified as the victim of last weekend’s propane explosion in North Fort Myers.

The incident occurred last Saturday on Nalle Grade Road, where a propane tank suddenly exploded on private property. Witnesses described a powerful blast that shook nearby homes and sent emergency responders rushing to the scene.

Emergency Response and Hospitalization

First responders immediately recognized the severity of Sanchez’s injuries, declaring her a “Trauma Alert.” She was airlifted by LeeFlight to HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, where medical teams fought tirelessly to save her life.
