PIKEVILLE, Ky — A Pike County woman has died following a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon, and Kentucky State Police have launched a full investigation into the tragic crash.
Deadly Collision on Chloe Road
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on September 12, 2025, Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville received reports of a serious collision on Chloe Road, in the Pikeville community of Pike County.
According to troopers, 35-year-old Jessica Goble was operating a 2009 Cadillac CTS when her vehicle crossed the center line of the roadway and collided head-on with a Chevrolet 3500 truck driven by Eddie Wolford.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where Goble was found with life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital but sadly died shortly after arrival. Wolford’s condition has not yet been released by authorities.
Investigation in Progress
KSP Accident Reconstructionist Trooper Matt Smith is leading the investigation into what caused Goble’s vehicle to veer into the opposite lane. Authorities have not yet determined whether speed, impairment, or road conditions were contributing factors.
“The investigation is ongoing, and our team is working to carefully reconstruct the sequence of events that led to this devastating crash,” a KSP spokesperson said.
Emergency Response
The crash prompted a swift response from multiple agencies, including Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, Millard Volunteer Fire Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service. Together, they secured the accident scene, provided emergency medical care, and assisted in traffic control while the roadway was temporarily impacted.
