CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A tragic crash in Cape Coral has left the community in shock and mourning after two men, identified as Vito Javy and Kommodity, lost their lives in a fiery accident late Saturday night.
According to Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS, the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on September 13, 2025, at the intersection of Academy Boulevard and SE 17th Street. Emergency crews arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames.
Victims Identified
Authorities confirmed that Vito Javy was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:38 p.m. Another man, initially pulled from the burning vehicle and transported under trauma alert conditions to Gulf Coast Medical Center, was later identified as Kommodity. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Friends and loved ones shared heartfelt tributes on social media, expressing deep sorrow at the sudden loss. One grieving friend reflected, “I lost another homie that was on dialysis. Both times they told me, ‘I’m getting tired of this,’ and then two days later, they were gone. It’s sad they’re gone, but they’re not suffering anymore. RIP Kommodity and Vito.”
Emergency Response
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and recover the victims. Radio communications indicated that Kommodity, approximately 40 years old, sustained critical injuries before being rushed to the hospital. Tragically, his condition worsened, and he later passed away.
No additional injuries were reported.
Road Closures and Investigation
The accident forced the closure of Academy Boulevard in both directions for several hours overnight as investigators from the Cape Coral Police Department worked to process the scene. The road has since reopened to traffic.
