According to Rome Police, the collision occurred in the early Morning hours when a driver in an SUV lost control while traveling at a high rate of speed. The SUV veered into the Cornetts’ vehicle, causing catastrophic damage. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but despite life-saving efforts, both Lamont and Rhonda were pronounced dead.
