Horry County Police Investigating Two Overnight Shootings Leaving Multiple Victims Hospitalized

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — The Horry County community was shaken overnight by two separate shooting incidents, leaving multiple people injured and prompting an intensive investigation by local law enforcement. Authorities confirm that the incidents are unrelated, but both have left residents concerned about safety in the area.

First Shooting: Myrtle Beach Area

The first shooting occurred Wednesday night around 7:40 p.m. near Rexford Court in the Myrtle Beach area of unincorporated Horry County. A single individual was injured and initially brought to a nearby fire station for emergency care. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) subsequently transported the victim to a local hospital.

Officials described the injuries as non-life-threatening, but emphasized that the incident is under active investigation. Police are speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage to determine what led to the shooting.

Second Shooting: Loris Area

Just hours later, early Thursday morning at approximately 4:24 a.m., a second shooting occurred off Gateway Drive in the Loris area, also in unincorporated Horry County. Two people were injured in this incident and transported to nearby hospitals, with one victim reported in critical condition.

Investigators are working to understand the circumstances behind the shooting and determine whether the victims were targeted or if other factors contributed to the incident.

The Horry County Police Department (HCPD) has stressed that these shootings are isolated and not connected. Additional patrols have been deployed in both areas to ensure public safety, and investigators are working around the clock to gather information.
